Honestly, I never understood it. I could never grasp the concept that another woman would dislike like me simply by looking at me. Perhaps she liked my outfit, or my clothes, or simply my smile. One, if not all of those things would bring up the thought in her mind, “She thinks she’s too good”.
When we were just little girls we didn’t think those thoughts. We just had friends and when they had nice hair, we’d admire that. If they had a cool outfit on, we’d compliment them on that. So when did things change? Better yet, why did things change? Why do we feel a sense of competition with other women?
I’ll continue to search for that answer. Meanwhile, I challenge us all to get back to a child-like behavior where all we wanted to do is love our girlfriends. If we see we have the same outfit on, laugh about it, saying “we’re cute!”
